Plastic Soldier Company - Kit WW2V20023 - British A9 Cruiser Tank in the 1/72 scale.
The kit comes in a carton box from 23 x 15,5 x 7,5 cm. (So a big box) The box contains (6 sprues) 3x 1/72 British A9 Cruiser tanks suitable for the early campaigns in France 1940 through to the desert campaigns in North Africa. Inside the box are tank commanders suitable for both campaigns. Decals are not included.
My opinion after a look to the parts is, the kit has maybe a little less quality in detailling and sharpness then the sModel kits, but the kit is until now far away the best A9 kit we have in the 1/72 scale. There are no sinkholes, flash, injection or pressing marks on the wrong sides of the parts.
Really an object for all modellers that like British vehicles. And a object for modellers with experience to bring the model to a higher class.
Dimensions original vehicle which are found on Wikipedia.
Length: 19 ft = 5,80 meter
Width : 8 ft 4 inch = 2,50 meter
In 1/72 scale
Lenght: 80,5 mm
Width : 34,7 mm
Dimensions of the PSC A9 – (upperdeck with mudguards)
Lenght: 80 mm
Widht : 35,5 mm
My conclusion is that the model is in correct scale.
The pictures from the build model (quick build as test) are from Geoff Baines, which are showed on the Missing Lynx forum.
The other pictures are all from my hand.
This pictures are also a primeur (first showing)

Whatever their merits as models, as war games vehicles I would have loved to have had a couple of boxes of these ten or fifteen years ago. Even now I am tempted...
ReplyDeleteOkay that looks cool. I would now like an A10. That is my favourite of the early war British tanks.
ReplyDeleteA10 is planned as a future release. No date yet, but I am waiting....
